Discipleship To The World
And Abroad
Presently First Presbyterian Church supports over 110 full-time missionary families and singles serving in more than 45 countries. We have missionaries working from the Sahara Desert to within the Arctic Circle and everywhere in between. They are doing pioneer church planting; urban and rural church planting; working with children, youth, young adults and adults; translating the Bible; piloting jungle aircraft; pastoring churches alongside national co-workers; teaching in high schools, colleges, Bible colleges and seminaries; dorm parenting; office and administrative work; teaching English; caring for the ill, the poor and the disenfranchised; and much more.
|
| There is a place for you to serve, locally for an hour, a day or a week, or in an overseas opportunity for two weeks or two years or filling a full-time ministry position. As a congregation, we want to be intimately involved in the life and ministry of our missionaries. We support some of our missionaries’ national co-workers so that the churches that are planted will truly be indigenous, not a transplanted American church. Also when sending out our short-term teams, we set a priority on supporting the work of our missionaries. |
